Aurora System is Fenwal's Latest Advancement in Plasma Collection Technology. The system is based on patented separation technology using the company's Autopheresis-C system., which has been used worldwide for plasma collection for more than 20 years. Plasmapheresis is an automated process in which plasma is taken from donated blood and the remaining components., mainly red blood cells and platelets, are returned to the donor. The original plasma is used by pharmaceutical companies that produce therapies from plasma-derived proteins.

Plasma collection professionals played an integral role in the development of Aurora. "From system design to on-screen messaging, All details were evaluated for ease of use, safety and improved productivity", added Cork. With remote procedure configuration, the Aurora system can be automatically programmed based on donor registration information.
