Universal Pictures UK has launched a free application with the augmented reality platform of Aurasma that allows you to see in some tourist enclaves of London, if viewed through the screen of an iPhone, an iPad or an Android, pictures of King Kong, of the car from 'Back to the Future', or one of the dinosaurs from 'Jurassic Park'.

Universal Pictures and Aurasma They have come together to create an augmented reality experience that gives life to three of the most representative characters of these film studios. With the Universal app 100, available for free on the Apple App Store, King Kong can be seen climbing Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square, to a T-Rex at Buckingham Palace or the DeLorean from 'Back to the Future' on Westminster Bridge.

The Universal App 100 It is part of the celebrations of the 100 Anniversary of this film studio. Makes movie characters appear to interact with these London landmarks. Characters appear on iPhone screens, iPad and Android when these are placed in front of these tourist attractions.

When a compatible device is oriented towards Big Ben, the DeLorean from 'Back to the Future'’ Appears flying over the bridge; when pointing to Trafalgar Square, King Kong climbs Nelson's Column; and a Tyrannosaurus Rex from 'Jurassic Park'’ head towards Buckingham Palace when devices are pointed in your direction.

The application is also compatible with 15 Limited edition DVD and Blu-ray covers. Characters on decks will move when users place devices on them. The app can be downloaded on iPhones 4 and 4S, iPad and Android's high-powered technology. It will be available for free from the Apple App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices.
