In response to the growing demand for digital menu board applications, MMD, the exclusive marketer and distributor of Philips LCD monitors and digital signage displays, has launched the display BDL4771V of 47 inches from the Dutch manufacturer.

The exclusive distributor of LCD monitors and displays Philips, MMD, has announced a new addition to its series of digital menu boards, the BDL4771V from 47 Inch. This display is part of an expanded line of commercial-grade displays built for menu board applications in quick-service restaurants., Theatres, amusement parks and sports stadiums.

Craig Rathbun, Managing Director of MMD North America, has ensured that “with the increased demand for digital menu boards in the QSR industry, we are seeing how many fast food brands around the world are launching digital menu board projects in their cities. We have been fortunate to be included in some of these projects. They have given us a great understanding of what restaurant operators are looking for in menu board applications.. To meet the challenges facing restaurant operators, we have expanded our series of featured digital menu boards to provide a comprehensive solution with the efficiency to run for years at low costs.”

The new Philips BDL4771V features technologies to enhance the visual experience of digital menu boards in public areas. Philips display includes an LCD Panel In Plane Switching (Ips) for vivid and rich image quality of 1.070 millions of display colors. Large color spectrum creates accurate color saturation and contrast for a wider viewing angle, both in portrait orientation and landscape mode. IPS display technology also produces screen-to-screen image consistency in multi-screen deployments. This feature is ideal for ensuring that viewers can clearly read signage content from all angles on a series of screens in a menu board configuration..

Daisy-chaining

To cope with a variety of digital menu board configurations, the Philips BDL4771V features DVI derived connection technology, enabling the ability to daisy chain multiple Philips displays via a digital source. By using DVI derived connection technology, users can deploy higher volume systems while reducing deployment costs by broadcasting a single video signal across multiple Philips displays. DVI derived connection technology allows you to connect a wide range of Philips displays in videowall and menu board configurations through the DVI connection.

In addition to all the features that are standard on all Philips signage models including multi-screen image alignment, heat management and life asset tracking, the low power consumption of the Philips BDL4771V of 47 inches delivers the best total cost of ownership performance for demanding digital menu board applications, according to the company. The Philips BDL4771V also incorporates Smart Insert, which allows the user to mount a small form factor PC or media player on the back of the panel without increasing the overall depth of the screen. 700-nits brightness ensures that display quality can be enjoyed in areas of relatively high brightness environments.

The Philips BDL4771V display 47 inches can also be controlled and configured using an RS232 serial cable, an RJ45 network cable, as well as via HDMI via OneWire, which at the same time can send audio signals, video and control to the screen, reducing the need for additional cables. Video can also be connected via display port, allowing for better viewing of 1080p video signals.
