Coinciding with the London Olympic Games 2012, The McCann Istanbul agency carried out a digital-out-of-home campaign for Turkish Airlines that sought to attract the millions of tourists who visited the British capital through a design of QR codes that integrated shields and colors of the official flags of various countries.

The agency McCann Istanbul took advantage of the many tourists who visited London on the occasion of the Olympic Games to carry out an advertising campaign for Turkish Airlines that used QR codes. As stated in the magazine Informa BTL, The campaign consisted of transforming the national flags of the different destinations of the Ottoman airline into QR codes to invite users to participate in a contest to win trips.

The posters with the QR codes were placed on a hundred digital billboards scattered throughout the city, Inviting people to use their smartphones and participate to win free rides. Participants had to scan the QR code and were automatically registered through the website created for this purpose.. The person with the most registrations will win a round-trip ticket to one of the 200 Turkish Airlines worldwide destinations.
