Samsung Techwin, the security division of the South Korean company Samsung, has added to its catalog of cameras the model SNO-7080R, a Full HD IR LED camera 3 megapixels using the WiseNet2 DSP chipset and a 2.8x vari-focal motorized lens.

Samsung Techwin America has launched a network video surveillance camera 3 megapixels with an IR range of 30 meters in absolute darkness. The SNO-7080R, with a 2.8x vari-focal motorized lens, can capture 16:9 Full HD images to 1920 x 1080p with wide dynamic range (WDR) and features dual H.264 and MPEG codec. It is environmentally rated IP66 for severe and variable weather conditions and can be powered via PoE and 24V AC.

Pedro Duarte, Vice President of Latin America of Samsung Techwin, has pointed out: "Our new outdoor IR megapixel camera offers a unique combination of execution., Features and cost-efficiency that translate to exceptional value. The SNO-7080R's low-light IR capability greatly extends applications for megapixel imaging given its wide range in total darkness.".

The SNO-7080R uses Samsung WiseNet2 DSP chipset, Designed to provide maximum megapixel technology benefit, including Wide Dynamic Range and Intelligent Compression with coding of the region of interest (Roi). The camera offers different resolution options, including CIF (320 X 240 Pixels), 1080p full HD (1,920 X 1080 Pixels), and 3 full megapixels (2,048 X 1,536 Pixels) with the ability to transmit up to six profiles for viewing and recording.

The ONVIF-compatible camera also incorporates light compensation, SSNRIII (2D+3D) digital noise reduction, motion detection, Privacy Detection, SSDR for contrast enhancement and automatic day/night (RCI). The motorized vari-focal lens of 3 – 8.5 Mm (2.8X) Allows zoom and focus settings to be remotely adjustable.
