Schneider Electric announced the launch and availability of its updated and improved Digital Sentry hardware platform Pelco, with a new network video recorder (NVR) DSSRV powered by the latest processor and graphics technologies at its core. The DSSRV is optimized to provide essential support for popular Digital Sentry DS NVs video management software, that has been loaded into the hardware platform. It is a flexible and convenient video management system that includes NVR, in addition to analog camera support via optional direct-connect or network video encoders and support for up to 128 IP and analog cameras.

Pelco's updated Digital Sentry hardware replaces previously used hardware, making the product easier to set up, order, install and operate. With a 2nd generation Intel Core i7 and 8 GB of RAM, the DSSRV has sufficient processing capacity and memory to meet the demands of HD video recording and playback operations. Its bandwidth of 280 Mbps allows you to record, play and export video from a maximum of 128 IP cameras.

The main features of the new Digital Sentry solution:
• Network video recording of PELco HD and SD IP streams and third-party cameras
• Optional hybrid expansion up to 64 analogue channels recording D1 30/25 Ips
• 280 Mbps of available bandwidth for recording, IP viewing and export
• Internal storage, accessible from the front, of 18 TB or 12 TB with optional DVD
• Optional configuration for RAID 5 (RAID controller 5 optional recommended for optimal performance) with removable hard drives
• Motorized cooling system to extend hard drive life
• Front panel design that provides safety at a glance that system units, network and hard drives are in working order

Yvonne Schwemmer, Schneider Electric Commercial Marketing Product Marketing Manager, has pointed out: “The new Digital Sentry platform offers a simplified video management system, optimized and more powerful that provides our customers with intuitive handling and open architecture”.

The new Digital Sentry hardware platform is compatible with the Partner First program, being part of the integration platform for access control and other security-related applications. Schneider Electric offers three video management systems to choose from -DX, Digital Sentry and Endura- allowing customers to choose a system to meet their needs.
