The Finnish company MultiTouch, Creator of interactive display systems based on proprietary software and hardware designs, has developed the ultra-thin bezel MultiTaction cell (UTB) of 55 Inch, that allows to create almost perfect multi-screen interactive installations.

MultiTouch, developer of the first modular multi-touch LCD screen for large displays, has announced the launch of its ultra-thin bezel MultiTaction cell (UTB). The world's first interactive display with an ultra-thin bezel LCD, 55″, improves MultiTouch's position in the stackable interactive display installation market.

The new UTB 55″ Minimizes visible bezel. With a bezel of 1,9 mm at the bottom and left side of the cell, and a bezel of 3,8 mm at the top and right, The result is the smallest possible intrusion of the visible surface, with an average mullion of only 5,7 mm pixel to pixel. This is a significant improvement over existing MultiTaction cells.

Petri Martikainen, CEO of MultiTouch, pointed out that “The first MultiTaction cells already had thin bezels designed with multi-screen installations in mind. The launch of our ultra-thin bezel model considerably improves the appearance of the single cell, making several arrays of displays look almost seamless.”

Touch solution

The construction of the ultra-thin bezel touch screen is possible thanks to the optical imaging technology Computer Vision Through Screen (CVTS) patented by MultiTouch featuring optical touch sensors integrated into proprietary LCD backlight modules. MultiTaction cells provide the set of touch capabilities, World's most advanced gestures and object recognition. They can accommodate an unlimited number of touch points and an unlimited number of simultaneous users with whole-hand recognition. Exceptionally, MultiTaction cells simultaneously support IR pen and touch interaction.

Designed for demanding public facilities in corporate environments, retail, education, Museums and exhibitions, MultiTaction cells feature advanced interaction functions and ultra-fast tracking of 200 FPS -which allows you to develop and deploy the most attractive interactive user experiences-. Full networking capabilities enable cloud applications and social media integration, as well as remote management and monitoring.

MultiTaction cells are designed for rich reality: interaction with real-life objects – whether ID cards, Product samples, 2D barcodes, or game pieces, For example- and can be stacked to create giant interactive displays in a variety of shapes with a large number of cells.

MultiTaction cells support a wide range of development tools, including the Cornerstone MultiTouch Software Development Kit (SDK), Microsoft Surface 2 SDK, and all TUIO compatible tools. You can also use an external Windows computer, Linux or Mac OS to connect multiple cells in large interactive installations.
