Roland Systems Group unveiled the M-200i Live Mixing Console, a V-Mixer 32 channels controllable from iPad with 24 analog inputs, 12 analog outputs and a digital stereo output (AES/EBU) on the back of the mixer, all condensed into a compact chassis.

Roland Systems Group has released the Roland M-200i, a compact mixing solution for those who want the flexibility and mobility offered by control from iPad combined with the precision of a professional digital console. The M-200i is a new member for the V-Mixer line of digital consoles, which includes solutions for direct sound such as Digital Snakes, recording/playback and personal monitoring together with the consoles.

The iPad app is fully functional in all fundamental aspects of mixing and controlling the M-200i. Not only does it contain the typical preamp control, bread, HPF and channel and graphics equalizers, it also includes the ability to call/save scenes, adjust compressors and doors, sends on fader, effects editing and many more. This allows complete remote control from any position in the room.

Wireless connection is possible using a router connected to the network port of the M-200i or using the Roland Wireless Adaptor WNA1100-RL connected to a USB port. Additionally you can connect the iPad by means of a multipin cable which offers a more secure connection while, In addition, iPad battery charges.

32 canals

Physically, the M-200i contains an architecture of 32 channels with 17 motorized faders, 8 Aux, 4 Matrix 8 DCAs, 24 entries and 14 physical outputs (expandable to 64×54). In addition to its physical inputs you can mix audio sources from a USB stick. If you do not have an iPad the console can be controlled through the built-in LCD display or also using a PC (Win/Mac) together with M-200i RCS remote control software. A very intuitive and precise function is the touch and turn that allows you to touch a certain parameter on the iPad and operate it using a physical potentiometer on the console.

The M-200i also includes a REAC port (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) which opens the door to the expansion of multitrack recording solutions, add more remote inputs and outputs and personal mixing systems. The REAC port can expand the number of inputs and outputs by connecting it to one of the Roland's most popular boxes, the S-1608, that provides 16 entries and 8 extra outputs in addition to those already available on the M-200i itself. It can also be used to make multitrack recordings based on the Sonar Producer DAW simply using a Cat5 cable and the necessary Driver on any PC (Win) of the market.

The M-200i offers an ideal solution for bands and musicians who want the highest possible sound quality along with the benefit of mixing their own monitor shipment from the iPad..
