The result of the collaboration between Polycom and Microsoft are the video and audio collaboration stations CX5500 and CX5100 that offer 360º views and 1080p HD quality.

Polycom has designed new 1080p HD video collaboration solutions with panoramic views of 360 Degrees, specially designed for Microsoft Lync. Polycom CX5500 and CX5100 Unified Conferencing Stations Deliver Innovative Participant Experience, whether they're in the conference room or thousands of miles away.

The CX5500 and CX5100 systems, successors to the CX5000 HD Unified Conferencing Station, are the result of the existing alliance between Polycom and Microsoft.

The new Polycom CX5500 offers video and audio collaboration capabilities for the business environment in a very easy-to-use system that can be connected to the USB port of the computer and also works as a SIP audio phone. Polycom CX5100 system delivers the same widescreen HD and USB video experience, but it is intended for clients that do not require a separate audio conferencing connection.

Polycom on CNNthese computers are located in the center of the conference room, allowing a natural conversation between participants around the table and remote participants. Both systems provide 1080p video of the person speaking by automatically tracking the flow of the conversation to 30 frames per second, while providing a panoramic view of the 360 Degrees. Conversations remain clear with Polycom HD Voice fidelity.

For its handling it includes a simple interface that facilitates users to make or join a call directly from the Lync user interface. Users simply connect the system via USB to a computer with Lync. The CX5500 and CX5100 systems can also be used in combination with Lync Room System, gathering in the center of the room cameras of 360 degrees with a video system designed for Lync that includes touchscreens and touch controls on the desktop.
