The new Y Series of d&b audiotechnik provides flexible and configurable solutions for any sound reinforcement requirement, small to medium-sized, whatever the style of the app.

The manufacturer of professional audio systems D&b audiotechnik has presented the new Y Series, offering a configurable solution for sound reinforcement in medium and small installations.

In this sense, Y7P and Y10P speakers cover point-in-time source tasks, with the B6-SUB providing a wide frequency response, while the two Y8 linear source speakers, Y12, with the corresponding Y-SUB cardioid subwoofer, take care of online arrangement tasks.

db audio Y12 arrayThe Y7P and Y10P speakers share the same dipolar arrangement as 8" motors, focused on a 1.4" compression motor equipped with a constant directivity swivel trumpet, making it easy to apply horizontally or vertically.

With dispersion characteristics of 75×40° (Y7P model) and 110×40° (Y10P), these speakers offer a multitude of application options, individually as a full-range system or in combination with other elements of the Y Series, stacks on the ground or blown up. Advanced port design delivers extensive low-frequency performance (Lf) until 59 hz. The B6-SUB complements both systems with a single 18" engine integrated into its compact bass-reflex design, and extends the frequency response up to 37 hz.

Compact and configurable, the Y8 and Y12 speakers use the same rigging design as their older J- and V-series 'brothers' and also share the same horizontal dispersion characteristics at 80 degrees and 120 degrees, respectively. These systems can be hung in columns up to 24 speakers with vertical angles of 0 at 14 degrees with a resolution of 1o.

db audio Y8-Y12The Y-SUB cardioid subwoofer houses a forward-facing 18" motor and a 12" motor that emits to the back and generates a cardioid dispersion pattern. Powered by a single channel of the amplifier, can be placed in stacks on the ground or blown up on top of a Y8/Y12 array.

Both point source and linear source speakers feature two 8" motors with neodymium magnets mounted on a dipolar arrangement around a 1.4" compression engine. This engine configuration activates the Y8 and Y12 to provide a horizontal dispersion pattern controlled up to 500 hz. A wide range of speaker accessories and transport solutions makes it easy to install and mobile.

While Y speakers are designed to provide flexible and mobile solutions, Yi versions, facility-specific are specially developed for permanent applications, with the only difference in box construction and mounting accessories. Special color and weather resistance options provide more possibilities for visual integration and placement.

db audio Series Y cartThe Y-Series is integrated into the d-series workflow&B, which includes ArrayCalc simulation software, R1 remote control software and company amplifiers, a process that ensures consistent and efficient results where needed. In ArrayCalc, a multitude of linear and point source speakers can be combined for a graphical representation that will detail the coverage, the drop in pressure level and the safety aspects of a system configuration in a given space.

The R1 export feature transfers all settings and settings in this simulation to a project file of the R1 remote control software, that will take into account all the specific functions of the system. The R1 workspace is intuitively formatted for operating systems over the d-remote control network&B, by CAN-Bus to access the D6 and D12 amplifiers, as well as D80, which can also be controlled via Ethernet with OCA protocols.
