Acquisition of Belgian company expands Barco's strategic portfolio with software tools for creation, Content management and distribution. Starting today, the DZine team, based in Kortrijk (Belgium) will function as Barco's development center in digital signage.

blankBarco has announced on Monday the signing of an agreement to acquire the Belgian company specializing in digital signage DZine. Through this acquisition, Barco will significantly expand its current offering of digital visualization products with the addition of advanced software tools for content creation and management. The cost of the operation at the time of the transaction has been less than once the annual sales of DZine excluding an earn-out provision over the next two and a half years. This purchase fits within a broader strategy of the company to position itself as a total provider of value-added solutions in the digital signage market. Paul Matthijs, Vice President of Video and Lighting Solutions Division at Barco, has recognized that “Barco and DZine have a common philosophy of providing innovative solutions in high and mid-range signage through partnerships with leading distributors. Joining forces, Our two companies will be able to open new sales opportunities, which will strengthen our position in the digital signage market in the coming years”. Founded in 1992 by Dirk Ghekiere, DZine has gained a solid reputation in digital signage with presence in more than 55 countries around the world. Starting today, Dzine's core team, based in Kortrijk (Belgium) function as Barco's hub for digital signage technology development. Dzine has more than 45 Professionals on staff.
