Samsung has added two new encoders that comply with the ONVIF standard to its iPOLiS product portfolio. Three encoders allow images captured on an analog camera to be transmitted in real time over a network with 4-CIF resolution.

blankSamsung has introduced the new range of ONVIF encoders. The SPE-400 four-channel and sixteen-channel rackmount SPE-1600R models, capable of up to four four-channel SPE-400B encoders, join the single-channel SPE-100 encoder to offer a cost-effective and easy-to-deploy method for adding analog cameras to an IP-based video surveillance system and networks. Three encoders allow images captured on an analog camera to be transmitted in real time over a network with 4-CIF resolution. Multi-stream functionality offers the option to use H.264 compression, MPEG-4 or MJPEG to minimize bandwidth consumption by simultaneously streaming images at different refresh rates and resolutions to different locations on a network. In case of alarm, encoders can be programmed so that the dome moves to a preset position and, for SPE-100 and SPE-400 models, alarm-related images can be recorded to an SD card and an email notification sent. Samsung's Free NET-I Viewer Visualization Software Offers Customers an Easy-to-Use Graphical User Interface. The SPE-100 has additional functionality in the form of looping video that allows you to capture images to share with other devices, such as a display monitor or local digital video recorder before they are encoded for transmission over the network. The SPE-100 and SPE-400 feature two-way sound that enables interactive communication between the camera location and the control room, while both models also allow authorized users to access live or recorded images on a memory card inserted into the SD slots of the encoders, using a browser.
