Coinciding with the proximity of the Christmas dates, Starbucks Launches First Augmented Reality App, Starbucks Cup Magic, available for iPhone and Android, that will allow users to interact with their coffee glass.

blankStarbucks will launch the 15 of November an augmented reality application for both iPhone and Android devices through which it proposes from its stores around the world a dynamic of fun interaction between the consumer and their artistic coffee cups. Starbucks Cup Magic will allow its customers to interact with different characters that will appear when focusing with the camera of their smartphone on a product of the company.

Depending on the figure that the glass has, an animated character will appear on the smartphone screen, also allowing you to share it on social networks. Through the application consumers will be able to send Christmas cards and even make prizes.

The application works very simply. All you have to do is activate it, point the smartphone camera at Starbucks Christmas glasses and in 47 additional objects around branches such as at counters, coffee bags, Etc., to display an animation on the screen. There are five different characters: an ice skater, a squirrel, a child, a snow dog and a fox.
