JCDecaux has resorted to a very surprising sensory marketing action to promote the new roasted potatoes for microwaves of the brand McCain, using bus stops with a giant potato that, when you press a button, it heats up and throws aroma of roasted potatoes.

The potato company McCain has just implemented in the United Kingdom an Action of Ambient Media in bus stops quite unique, offering travelers who patiently wait for the bus on duty the possibility of whetting their appetite with the appetizing smell of their new Ready Baker Jacket roast potatoes that only need to get into the microwave to be ready.

The campaign orchestrated by JCDecaux in collaboration with Omnicom agencies, PHD and Hyperspace, who have placed giant fiberglass potatoes in 10 bus stops, equipped with a button that when pressed dismisses the tasty aroma of mccain's new product. Also and to strengthen the action, bus stop fences also dispense discount coupons to promote the purchase of the product.

This outdoor advertising campaign also reaches travelers with adapted messages on billboards, road ads, screens of train stations and points of sale in Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury. The campaign is set to be introduced in major UK cities, including London, York, Nottingham, Glasgow and Manchester.

Mark Hodge, President of McCain Foods, Said: "These outdoor ads will really boost product sales, bringing customers the taste and aroma of baked food. We're adding a new meaning to the phrase 'try before you buy.'".
