The harman JBL Professional group company will exhibit at Prolight + Sound the new line array series, the Vertec VTX, which brings new developments in terms of transducers and other electro-acoustic aspects, incorporating the new D2 Dual Driver, which considerably improves the ability to reproduce treble.

The new Vertec VTX from JBL Professional will be playing live at the Prolight fair + Sound, in Frankfurt (Germany) of the 21 to the 24 March 2012. It will be a unique opportunity to attend a demo of the new V25 line array of the group's firm Harman in multi-array format with supporting subwoofers, Crown VRack amplification with V5-grade BSS Omnidrive HD signal processor and Soundcraft Vi Series mixing consoles. The system is configured to make a multimedia presentation, which consists of a 360º immersion in the latest lighting technologies, sound, video and automation existing today.

The JBL V25 model is a box of 3 roads formed by 2 2267H 15" speakers, four 8" 2169H and 3 D2 treble motors with two plastic annular diaphragms that allow climbing to the 20 kHz for the lowest mass of the same. The powers it handles are 2000 Wrms in bass, 700 Wrms in media and 300 Wrms in treble, in all cases to 8 Ohms. The horizontal coverage is 90º between 250 Hz and 16 khz, and the frequency response ranges from 35 Hz to the 20 Khz (- 10 Db).

New D2 engine

These speakers use JBL's Differential Drive technology with a dual-coil, dual-magnetic field system., together with the radiators integrated into the aluminium chassis to dissipate heat. The new D2 compression motor with double diaphragm and double coil overcomes the limitations given by the masses of these elements, by combining these double elements into a single compact transducer, with its unified acoustics. The D2 Dual Driver uses two coils, each with its own diaphragm, magnet and phase connections. Like this, instead of having a single heavier coil with its metal dome, typical of conventional compression engines, the D2 motor is powered by two coils that function as two driving forces, acoustically connected to a single output chamber.

As in the rest of Vertec models, Radiation Boundary Integrator is used, so the 8" are placed in a V-shape on the sides of the output of the treble waveguide and that as in the other cases is also covered with a trumpet with grooves. The waveguide uses a resonant chamber (TRAC – tuned resonant absorption chamber) improves horizontal coverage and eliminates cancellations caused by rear pressure of the media section. This ensures an uninterrupted and distortion-free transition between bands.

The S.A.F.E flying system. Suspension is also new. Designed for easier angle adjustment and no mechanical noise. The new "dolly" with wheels facilitates transport and hanging. Each box, In addition, can incorporate an optional laser to facilitate system orientation. Thanks to a new aluminium front it has been possible to reduce the space between sources and the height of the box has been reduced by 8 cm compared to model VT4889, being only of 41 cm. Weight, 82'5 kg per box.

As amplification the Crown VRack is recommended, composed of stages of the IT HD series with BSS DSP. They are available in two versions: VRack 12000 with 3 STAGES IT12000HD and VRack 4×3500, with 3 IT stages 4x3500HD. The Racks are pre-wired and include a connection panel for audio and another for power.
