The visitor who attends the new exhibition season of Ca l'Arenas, Centre d'Art of the Museum of Mataró, you will be able to experiment with the latest in new technologies. An advance that experts define as “augmented reality”, the device for the latest generation mobiles that allows you to go beyond the simple vision of a painting hanging on the wall.

'Sea of Fons’ the exhibition scheduled to open the season in Mataró will go down in history as the first in Spain in which the visitor can interact with the works exhibited thanks to their mobile phone and an application that easily recharges at the reception of the museum. Designed by mktcultural, augmented reality allows, just by focusing the mobile or a touch tablet towards the work, virtual information that overlaps the actual image and links to the corresponding Wikipedia article appears on the screen.

The Advantage of Wikipedia, according to Alexandra Prats, curator of the exhibition, is that it allows you to interact with Internet users. In this way, the articles that are initially posted on the net above the exposed table, will be able to grow with the contributions of visitors. The exhibition, therefore, will evolve with the contributions that the public makes through the Facebook page (facebook.com / MuseudeMataro), where you can vote which works of the fund you want to see exhibited, at the same time that own creations can be proposed (painting, photography, video, objects, text) that show how each person lives the relationship with the sea.

The public, in Ca l'Arenas, becomes a volunteer protagonist and acquires a very important role in the exhibition since he can exercise the role of curators and see the result of the work that can be done by the rest of the visitors to Ca l'Arenas through Facebook. Accessing the profile of the Museu de Mataró, they will be able to comment and even hang their own artistic works that, if they receive the public vote, will become part of the permanent exhibition of the Museu de Mataró.
