Shure has expanded its Microflex microphone portfolio with the MX150 lapel subminiature microphone and the MX153 cranial support microphone.

Shure, distributed in Spain by Earpro, has introduced new models in its line of Microflex microphones. New models include the MX150 lapel subminiature microphone and the cranial support MX153 microphone. With a discreet design and CommShield technology to inhibit interference from mobile phones or other wireless devices, Microflex series microphones are ideal for broadcast use, conferences, Theatre and countless applications.

Chad Wiggins, "Category Director" for wired microphones in Shure, has pointed out that "most of the events are recorded on video currently to facilitate their dissemination on the Internet, So the appearance has become a determining factor. The MX150 lavalier and the MX153 head microphone are designed to provide excellent sound quality with very low visibility in front of cameras and audiences.".

The MX150 lavalier microphone, Subminiature and very light, is available with an omnidirectional or cardioid polar pattern, and for wired or wireless configurations. Features a new adjustable foam rubber windscreen, to reduce external noise. A new multi-position tie clip reduces cable noise when driving it in circles, and can be mounted horizontally or vertically for use in any type of clothing. The same clip can accommodate single or dual microphones for applications where redundancy is required.

The MX153 subminiature microphone is ideal for use as reinforcement for words or situations where a lavalier microphone does not provide enough gain before feedback. MX153 features a padded ear ring for comfort, and a flexible pole for easier placement. The MX153 is available in black, Coffee and cocoa to fit all major skin tones.

In the production of television shows, Versatility and visibility are just as important. "The MX150 is a huge improvement in cable noise and handling., and its multi-position tie clip makes it easy to set up on clothing, both men and women," said John Christie., RF coordinator for Canadian TV show 'So You Think You Can Dance'. Christie has also been convinced by his windscreen: "I like the closure that keeps it securely in place.. Visually it looks great and less foam means less sound coloration.".

Both the new MX150 and MX153 feature Shure's CommShield technology. CommShield technology consists of RF meshing and filtering that make the microphone highly resistant to RF interference from mobile phones or other wireless equipment.
