The specialist in interactive technologies for branded environments, Engage Production, announced the completion of the world's largest multi-touch interactive video wall - consisting of 24×55" MultiTouch MultiTaction Cell LCD displays- for a world-renowned company based in the city of London (United Kingdom), as part of a fully integrated and unique communications facility.

As a provider and integrator of state-of-the-art interactive technologies, Engage Production has been responsible for designing, build and integrate a high-tech presentation facility for a major London-based global organization (United Kingdom) providing business advice in the business world. The customer wanted a place that could be used for a variety of purposes, such as presentations and workshops, and has pioneered the use of seamlessly integrated interactive technology - including the world's largest interactive video wall (9,9 M. X 3 M.), made up of 24 HD MultiTaction Cell LCD displays 55 inches from the Finnish company MultiTouch-. Multi-functional and expandable, Wall's sophisticated user interface allows control via iPad, and the interaction between the tablet and the wall is transparent.

The customer ordered a 'Brand Executive Suite'’ that would enable communications through a range of state-of-the-art equipment, and demonstrates how quickly the consumer is changing as a result of technological developments. According to MultiTouch, MultiTaction technology is the only multi-touch product available that could meet customer requirements in terms of space, budget and delivery, as well as the 'stacking' capability needed for such a large installation, and the customer also demanded fast response times (MultiTaction works at 200 frames per second), múltiples usuarios -sin límite- and appropriate tracking features.

In addition, the videowall had to run smoothly with the apps as they had been thought for it. MultiTouch ensures that its Cornerstone SDK enables ultra-smooth, high-resolution processing with native panel resolution of around 50 megapixels.

State-of-the-art multi-touch technology

Petri Martikainen, Ceo of MultiTouch, has indicated: “At MultiTouch we constantly strive to make our devices the best they can be. I firmly believe that MultiTaction offers the latest in multi-touch technology and it is a privilege to see that our products are used on such a huge scale that it should be not only the largest multi-touch video wall, but also the most technologically advanced in the world.”

For its part, Steve Blyth, engage Production director, has targeted: “We know the importance that our customers place on making important and relevant presentations in an entertaining and engaging way. Installing a huge video wall as a central feature not only reflects that motivation, but it also creates an unforgettable visual impact”.

Mobile interaction

Multi-touch MultiTaction Cells are stackable and can work together as a giant screen to process the touches of an infinite number of users. Although it is made up of 24 55-year-old displays″, the videowall functions as a unit interacting with external tablet devices. Plays a central role in providing customer services, offering high-quality interactive presentations. The wall features an ultra-fast gesture tracking ratio of 200 frames per second, high brightness and can operate under varying lighting conditions.

Unlike other similar devices, MultiTouch ensures that MultiTaction Cells can follow various simultaneous interaction methods including hands, optical markers and real-life objects. The recent addition of MultiTaction IR pen software allows the use of common infrared pencils as an additional input method. Engage has included integrated video conferencing facilities so that the customer can interact with guests from all over the world.

Another important feature of the installation is the business scope. The content, which is controlled by the presenter via a tablet, projected onto a curved surface. Using a mix server software, three HD projectors combine to create a perfect image. A high-quality audio system is also included.
