The past 20 November UNICEF Netherlands, in collaboration with the agency Roorda Reclamebureau, launched the 'We believe in zero' campaign’ (We believe in zero), consisting of an immense panel of LCD screens that during 24 hours showed in lapses of 4,5 Seconds, 19.000 Images of children's eyes closing, to make it clear how every day thousands of children disappear without a trace.

To commemorate Universal Children's Day, that every year recalls the signing of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), UNICEF Netherlands and the agency Roorda Reclamebureau They developed a campaign that sought to alert the public about the large number of children who die in the world every day. Under the title of 'We believe in zero', The initiative consisted of an eye-catching action: for a period of 24 hours, were shown 19.000 pairs of children's eyes on LCD screens located around Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome, A multipurpose arena located in the Dutch capital. Every 4,5 Seconds, A child closed his eyes. After 24 hours, 19.000 Children had closed their eyes making the size of the world's infant mortality painfully visible..

This is UNICEF's message, with the support of celebrities and national and international organizations, call on Dutch citizens to actively participate in the fight against infant mortality over the next two years. Every day 19.000 children die from easily preventable causes through simple means, as vaccines, mosquito nets and drinking water.
