Starbucks unveils its new juice business, Evolution Fresh, with an original idea of digital signage.

Starbucks Evolution Fresh Tap Wall

Starbucks sought to turn around its traditional coffee business and has included in its chain a line of establishments focused on the sale of juices, Evolution Fresh, Here fruits and vegetables are used to make their juices, in which heat is renounced to better retain the nutrients and natural flavors of the ingredients. The first of these stores was opened in Bellevue (Washington) and this would be followed by Seattle and San Francisco.

In order to enhance the new brand image and attract customers, Starbucks installed in these stores an innovative digital signage solution, the Tap Wall. A concept that uses the animation produced by the traction of the juice taps (as if it were a beer tap) and a video wall in which digital illustrations of juices and smoothies are displayed highlighting that they are handmade. "It was important that this big screen not only told the story of the evolution of maca but also showed how our juices are different from those of our competitors.. In addition, We wanted the taps that dispense our juices to be highlighted in the establishment", Explain the company.

The biggest challenge of Evolution Fresh was to find a way to integrate a mechanism that will activate the contents of the video wall. They needed a solution that will encompass both the menu and the eight taps and juice.

The solution was found using an Arduino board that integrates sensors on the back of the faucets to activate the content of the screen..
