The car manufacturer Audi has relied on augmented reality technology Metaio so that the user can have access to all vehicle information through their mobile with eKurzinfo application without the traditional manual.
The augmented reality application that eKurzinfo Metai has developed jointly with the automaker Audi aims to be an innovative, simple and visual alternative to traditional manuals, in which the user has through his mobile all the elements and operation of the car.
This interactive manual can be downloaded for free for IOS devices on the App Store and provides extended functionality for Audi customers. Developed initially for the A1 model with up to 65 elements in 2011, the German manufacturer has improved and extended now for the Audi A3, which recognizes up to three hundred different elements of the vehicle and the forecast is to expand it to more models.
The augmented reality technology allows the user Metaio in this application displayed in real time on the screen of your mobile and have an animated vehicle elements 2 and 3D playback, as well as their functions.
Audi eKurzinfo is currently available in German, English and Japanese, and users can download the updates directly in the application, without having to visit App Store again, thanks to based on 'cloud' of Metaio content server.
