Developed for demanding video surveillance installations, Axis Communications has introduced the Q7436 card video encoder and Q7920 chassis, that allows to support up to 84 Analog Security Cameras.

Axis Q7436

The manufacturer of network video systems Axis Communications has developed a new on-board video encoder, Q7436, and Q7920 video encoder rack, for locations with demanding surveillance needs, as airports, Train stations and citizen surveillance, that need high performance, flexibility and reliability.

Erik Fränlid, Director of Product Management at Axis, points out that this new video coding system "is an optimal surveillance solution, that allows customers with large analog CCTV installations to connect their cameras to an IP network, providing you with immediate access to all the benefits of digital surveillance, including video analytics capabilities, remote access and scalability".

Axis Q7436 on-board video encoder provides 50ips video streams, with sharp images even of scenes with fast-moving objects. Offers multiple video streams simultaneously, Individually configurable for each channel, at full resolution and with the maximum number of images per second. Q7436 accepts up to six channels and incorporates specific picture quality features, as noise reduction, Sharpness and optimized contrast.

Axis Q7436For large-scale centralized systems, High-density rack solutions with on-board video encoders are a highly reliable and flexible solution. The Q7920 chassis developed by Axis is an expandable and ideal system for the migration of analog surveillance facilities to IP video.

This chassis can accommodate up to fourteen on-board video encoders, with the possibility of exchanging them in 'hot' and giving support until 84 Analog cameras. Thanks to its power and network redundancy, is a highly reliable solution in demanding security installations.

Axis Q7920 incorporates two RJ45 ports and two SFP inputs (for fiber optics) to ensure long-distance network connectivity, Flexible and affordable, as it allows the use of different types of card and control of PTZ cameras through RS-485 connectors.

The Q7436 on-board video encoder is supported by the video management application base of the Axis Development Partner Program (ADP) and Camera Station, and includes support for AVHS hosted video solution and Onvif for easy integration into camera systems.
