Outdoor advertising specialist CBS Outdoor International Media will be renamed exterion since January 21, 2014, after being acquired last September by the investment fund Platinum Equity.

Under a new name and with a focus on expanding its interactive digital business strategy, CBS Outdoor International will, from January 21, 2014, exterion Media. This change responds to the acquisition of the company by the investment fund Platinum Equity last September.

As explained Antonio Alonso, CEO of CBS Outdoor International (pictured), "our new brand really highlights the fact that we are now an independent company. This means the beginning of an important stage, not only for ourselves but for the world of outdoor advertising in general ".

The acquisition by Platinum Equity brings "a business perspective, complemented with our deep industry knowledge and operational experience that will allow CBS Outdoor accelerate the development of our existing assets and expand our digital and interactive business," says Alonso .

Esta nueva etapa, bajo la denominación de Exterion Media, “permitirá desarrollar el negocio de una manera más agresiva para impulsar el crecimiento orgánico y rápido, así como potenciar nuevas adquisiciones inteligentes -puntualiza este directivo-. Vamos a seguir construyendo el negocio en torno a nuestro posicionamiento engaging audiences, que nos ha conducido hacia el éxito”.

El nuevo nombre y logo de la compañía es “es distintivo, fácil de recordar y funciona en todos nuestros mercados”. Como explica Alonso, Exterion Media combina ‘exterior’ con el concepto de estar siempre activo y ayudar a las marcas a alcanzar sus audiencias, mientras que “media” ha sido elegido para demostrar que no sólo son expertos en publicidad exterior, sino también en medios de comunicación.

In this sense, and according to data marketing consultant WARC expert 'market intelligence', the segment of outdoor advertising has been the fastest growing worldwide after Internet, which is expected to increase 2 , 8% this year to 3.7% in 2014.
