Technology Sony Hawk-Eye next to your projection system VPL-FH500L is used by the Puma sportswear brand to create a virtual goal which serves as a platform to promote his evoPOWER boots.

Earlier this year, Puma launched the promotional campaign of its football EvoPower boots and did so with an event held on January 17 in Barcelona attended by forwards Mario Balotelli, Cesc Fàbregas and Marco Reus. Players showed their skills and capabilities of these boots by throwing the ball against a virtual doorman Sony-developed especially for this occasion.

For the realization of this soccer Simulator, Sony used its Hawk-Eye technology, the VPL-FH500L projector and the objective of short-range VPLL-Z4015.

Players carried out their releases against a screen, simulating a football goal life-size, of 7.3 x 2.4 meters and the Simulator was collecting the power and accuracy of every shot made by the three soccer stars. Hawk-Eye tracking technology was possible to measure the speed of the ball and the point of impact of each shot of the penalty. This provides immediate insight into the statistics of each player shot.

The sharpness and brightness of the images were projected with a WUXGA resolution thanks to the VPL-FH500L team that provides a color light output of 7,000 lumens perfect for parties. In addition, this system offers high reliability and reduced maintenance requirements, reducing the total cost of the life of the projector in a wide range of demanding applications, from auditoriums to public halls and shops.
