Samsung and the National Archaeological Museum They continue with their collaboration agreement and continue to bet on technological innovation and transform cultural experiences inside and outside the museum. The latest project is the MAN Virtual app that allows users from all over the world to remotely visit showrooms via smartphone., tablet or web.

The virtual tour presents more than 13.000 Archaeological works and objects from the museum's collection, the digitization of four floors of the building and 40 Permanent exhibition halls. By touring the rooms through this visit, It will be possible to expand the information of the works with 3.802 Points of interest that show explanations of the works, Illustrations, Maps or videos, as well as links to the corporate database CER.ES (Networked Collections) of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport for extended information.

Samsung MAN VirtualIn addition to the possibilities to visit the museum from anywhere and prepare the visit, The informative nature of this project presents an innovative experience also for the educational field, by opening new possibilities to visit the museum from the classroom itself. In this line will also work in the next year jointly through the citizenship program Samsung Smart School.

Thanks to Samsung's participation, This project configures its multiplatform character, as the MAN Virtual app is available via smartphone, tablet, Samsung Gear VR and web version.
A new perspective is offered to visit the National Archaeological Museum, from home or elsewhere, as well as new possibilities when planning and scheduling the visit.

For the creation of this project, have been carried out 404 Panoramic, for which more than 15.000 Photographs with advanced techniques in the realization and post-production to eliminate reflections from the exhibition cabinets. In the case of virtual reality content made to enjoy with Samsung Gear VR, eleven VR panoramas of museum rooms made in stereoscopy are shown that allow an immersion with greater volume and realism.

In addition to the free tour that presents this visit through the different floors and rooms, three thematic routes are presented that focus on the figure of women with the 'Museum in Women', a journey through 'Music in the Museum' and 'Archaeology of Death'.

Technology Collaborator

Samsung and the National Archaeological Museum signed a collaboration agreement through which the company became a technological partner of the Museum. As the first project, the application 'Living in...', that adapts different pieces and archaeological contents to the virtual reality experience so that visitors can experience the sensation of walking through the streets and entering the houses of the ancestors.

The experience includes the five scenarios of the History of Spain (Prehistory, Protohistory, Roman Hispania, Middle Ages and Modern Age) that are part of the permanent exhibition. These experiences can be enjoyed in each historical setting with a point equipped with Gear VR glasses, A smartphone and headphones.

Thanks to the agreement between the National Archaeological Museum and Samsung, A videowall has also been installed in the main lobby of the museum, consisting of 12 Led panels with visual display technology, besides 80 New tablets that are used as multimedia guides by visitors.
