Synology, company dedicated to developing storage products, has become a member of ONVIF (Open Forum of Network Video Interfaces), an open industry forum that aims to develop a global standard for the interface of network video products.

Synology, provider of professional IP-based video surveillance solutions that combine the functionality of NVR and NAS technologies, has announced that it has obtained the status of full member of the Open Forum of Network Video Interfaces (ONVIF – del inglés Open Network Video Interface Forum) to support the continuous development of network video over open IP devices and software.

Chad Chiang, Synology product manager, has stated that "by adopting the ONVIF global standard, Synology users will benefit from seamless integration that has a high level of flexibility and freedom of choice while ensuring interoperability between Synology products and other compatible IP surveillance devices that also meet the ONVIF standard.". In addition, system integrators, installers and developers can experience hassle-free network surveillance unification and remove extra integration.

"Synology is the only provider dedicated to NVR and video backup among all full ONVIF members.. We will actively participate in the work of the forum, and users can expect Synology to set a better standard for IP camera and NVR integration in the near future.", added Chiang.
