The Church of Santa María del Pino in Vinuesa (Soria), a Temple of Renaissance Gothic style that began to be built in 1591, has completed the installation of its new sound system. An electroacoustic project carried out by the Professional Division of Gaplasa, for the company Sound & Services of Soria, responsible for system installation.

Bose DS-100SEIn order to obtain the maximum possible intelligibility, within the limitations of this type of enclosures in terms of acoustics (high reverberation time, reflective surfaces...), the system was designed based on linear array speakers Bose MA-12, that allow hardly any sound to be emitted towards the dome or towards the ground, minimizing reflections that cause great reduction in intelligibility. These speakers are amplified with Bose PowerMatch power stages, that allow through its internal DSP to adjust the response of the speakers.

Biamp Nexia CSThe signal that reaches the amplification comes from a digital matrix Biamp Nexia CS, that allows to process all the microphones and signal sources of the installation. It is essential to be able to obtain good results that the management of the microphones is very careful. That's why, Biamp's automatic mixing algorithm ensures that only the microphones in which you are talking are open, so that the highest possible profit is obtained from the system.

Bose MA-12In addition, the digital matrix allows to equalize the response of the system in the enclosure, as well as adjusting the delay lines to get the sound to come from the altar with greater intelligibility.

It is also very important to choose the microphones, as they will be the gateway to the sound system. That's why, microphones from the Classis series have been chosen Beyerdynamic, that allow a high gain and have a very defined coverage that rejects the sound coming from behind.

last, the Church of Santa María del Pino has an elevated choir at the back of the temple, which has also been sounded using Bose DS-100SE speakers.

Carmelo Garcia, manager of the company Sound & Services review: "Once the installation of all systems with the Nexia processor is finished, the adjustment and equalization of the elements has allowed us to, in addition to creating a sound reinforcement throughout the temple, uniform and no bounces, which was the fundamental objective of the work, add other extras, such as being able to make sonorizations and recordings from the temple choir, when the situation requires it”.

This type of system has already been used in other temples such as the Sagrada Familia, the Cathedral of Barcelona, the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid or the Basilica of Montserrat in Barcelona.
