The plenary hall of the City council of Zaragoza has a new digital system of debate DIS of Shure, whose brand distributes Earpro, which has been installed this summer.

The solution consists of a central unit CU5905, 35 dc5905 microphonic bases, 35 GM5923 gooseneck microphones 40 cm and a GM5924 gooseneck microphone 50 cm. Each of the 33 councillors has its own debate unit, composed of microphonic base and microphone.

The two additional discussion units are used, respectively, for the secretary of the plenary sessions and as a replacement unit if necessary. In addition, the system has a microphone 50 cm, which is used for those occasions when, in an extraordinary way, an extra-long neck is required.

“The plenary hall had a discussion system that had become obsolete and that began to fail, so it became necessary to replace it. We had already done several projects with DIS and were responsible for the maintenance of the City Hall for several years. This allowed us to advise the press office, based both on our previous experience with DIS systems and on our knowledge of the actual functioning and needs of plenary sessions", explains Alberto Martín, technical director of the company that carried out the installation, AVR Audiovisuals.

In addition to technological requirements, the City Council needed a solution that would have a minimal impact on the carpentry of the plenary hall. This was an additional reason for choosing a DIS system, since all the connection is done in a very simple and discreet way with CAT5 cable.

To pull the wires, the installation team of audiovisual AVR had the advice of the carpenters of the City Council, who recommended using smaller than usual cable outlets and staying right under the discussion units. In this way, no cable is visible.

The solution offered by AVR Audiovisuales also included a tablet with a specific wireless management app that, from an intuitive device and over a dedicated network, communicates with the system to simplify its handling.

AVR Audiovisuales has provided an installation in which DIS by Shure systems have been selected for their sound quality, ease of connection and installation and simplicity of handling, thanks to the possibility of performing the wireless management of the system through an App installed on a tablet.
