The city of Salamanca has become for its citizens and visitors a spectacular lighting, audiovisual and show projections on the facades of its numerous historic buildings during the past weekend, on the occasion of the first Edition of the light Festival and avant-garde.
The audiovisual piece 'Artificial serendipity', developed by Slidemedia LabIt has achieved the prize of the jury at the first edition of the Festival of light and avant-garde, held over the past weekend in Salamanca.
The company Slidemedia Lab, based in Sabadell (Barcelona) and that it brings together several multidisciplinary artists dedicated to the research and implementation underway for audiovisual proposals based on mapping and motion graphics, 'painted' the façade of the Ayuntamiento de Salamancalocated in the main square of the city, with a composition of light and shadow which, in black and white and on the basis of stones with almost three hundred years of history, embossed architectural elements of the building to demonstrate the technological 'noise' that the people undergo daily.
In this first edition of the Festival of light and avant-garde, held over the past weekend in Salamanca, the audience award went to mount 'by neighborhood, by city, of the artistic Neighborhood Association Zoes, who with his work 'Brochazon' they filled the facade of the Salamanca municipality of photos and graffiti that make up the Gallery of urban art in the popular district of the West, in the Charro capital.
The Festival of light and avant-garde, organized by Study of communicationwith the collaboration of the city of Salamanca and the support of Iberdrola, has been developed, in addition to in Plaza Mayor, in other emblematic environments of the city, such as the Casa de las Conchas; the University of Salamanca (Patio de Escuelas); the school Archbishop Fonseca; the new Cathedral (Plaza de Anaya), and the Church of the convent of San Esteban.
Guests: Anna Barriball, Daniel Canogar, Carlos Irijalba and Edwin van der Heide, together with University students and companies in the field of video and installation, presented four days his creations, especially designed for the architectural features of the chosen buildings.
In addition, this first edition of the Festival of light and Vanguards had Lourdes Fernández Fernández, Director general of the Azkuna Zentroaas Commissioner, and with José Luis Iglesias, director of Heavents, at the head of the technical production. This last company has relied on specialist I'm for the delivery of video, and NOx AV in lighting, as major suppliers of the equipment used.
To fill Salamanca of light and image from 16 to 19 June an average of 30,000 watts have been necessary for installation (light, sound, and projection). For playout (blending and mapping) of different parts, the Organization has used the Watchout system of Dataton.
In the case of the mapping done in the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca, fifty of robotic and a 40,000 lumens projector of Ship they managed to create an effect only in the heart of the city. This Belgian firm projectors were used also in the area of the Rectorate (with three sets of 20,000 lumens each one) and Fonseca (four units of 20,000 lumens each one).
Christie It also had a very important role to get live projections of light and color in buildings of great historical value, such as the Casa de las Conchas, where deployed two projectors of 14,000 lumens each, and the convent of San Esteban, with the use of three equipment of 30,000 lumens each one.
