Sony BVM-X300 Oled

BVM-X300 Oled is the second generation of reference monitors Sony, provides more flexibility and features for HDR and 4K production applications, that from next October will have the version 2 of firmware, with HDR EOTF and support for additional features; new hardware with an HDMI input for connection to cameras or Blu-ray players, and a second 4K 3G/HD-SDI input for system integration.

The BVM-X300 monitor firmware update to version 2 also offers new display functionality for HDR production, including hybrid HDR Log-Gamma EOTF adjustment, compatible with the new ITU-R BT.2100 standard; the new EOTF called S-Log 3 (Live HDR) for easier camera control for live production, as well as new one-touch relative contrast modes for viewing HDR images with higher peak luminance and faster access to the status menu page.

For Daniel Dubreuil, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Sony Professional Monitors, "This monitor has become the gold standard for 4K color grading and HDR in post-production., And it's also making its way on sets and in mobile production.".

Current BVM-X300 owners who wish to add HDMI input and second SDI input will need to contact a Sony support centre, as implementation will require hardware and software modifications. The alternative of upgrading to version only 2 firmware is also possible.
