Collaborative robots communicated by 5G, drones connected to private LTE mobile units and autonomous commercial vehicles are some of the proposals that the company shows until the 5 October at its stand, that is monitored in real time with a smart energy solution to analyze your consumption.

IoT Solutions World Congress 2017, which is held in Barcelona until the 5 October, has for the first time with the solutions for companies of Telephone in the Internet of Things environment (Internet of things – IoT), aimed at consolidating digital transformation in different areas of activity.

The company presents at its stand internationally the new identity in this environment, which is based on the concept 'Take things further: at Telefónica IoT we take things further', and therefore its exhibition space represents the initials of the Internet of things: I (the rectangle), Or (the circle), T (the triangle).

For the head of the global IoT unit at Telefónica, Vicente Muñoz, "IoT is a revolution. Its possibilities are endless. Our vision puts people at the center, because the goal is to connect people to the things they care about. The stand is a reflection of the IoT Path, the journey we live together with our clients when we accompany them in their digital transformation processes".

specifically, the solutions that are in its exhibition space revolve around three pillars: 'Best connectivity', with proposals to manage connectivity and thus respond to basic device connection needs; 'Best experiences and data', with examples of IoT application in retail, mobility and energy, along with big data analytics capabilities, and 'New connectivity applications', taking things further', with the latest advances in smart services and 5G and LTE networks.

Telefonica IoT solutions world congress2017As a practical example in this congress, Telefónica shows the possibilities offered by the Smart Energy solution -focused on energy efficiency and predictive analytics- and user benefits, thanks to a network analyzer installed in the electrical panel of the stand itself to monitor in real time the electricity consumption of this space.

This solution allows to understand the consumption peaks, monitor the hours of highest electricity consumption and show the rate and bill foreseen based on said expense. In addition, the control and regulation of the lighting circuit facilitates the management of the intensity of the light in the chosen elements, in order to adjust consumption without reducing comfort, which also applies to air conditioning.

Other proposals are an automatic guided industrial vehicle (EasyBot) for the automotive sector; a demo showing 5G connectivity and edge computing applied to industrial robots, able to keep a ball in balance by real-time communication between their arms and a camera connected to both, and a backpack with a mobile unit to generate an area with private LTE network coverage to which all kinds of devices can be connected such as, a drone capable of assisting in emergency situations.
