The opening of the Statue of Liberty Museum is a demonstration of how to engage, inform and interact with visitors combining history and the latest audiovisual technology, fruit of the project of the design firm specialized in museums ESI Design, with the integration of AV Diversified as a technology partner.

Those responsible for the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation (Soleif) they wanted to reflect in each space of the museum the importance of this 'beacon of hope' that received immigrants who arrived on the coast of a country also founded by immigrants and that has turned Lady Liberty in its emblem and in the most visited monument in New York.

This foundation has invested five years and about one hundred million dollars in the creation of the new Museum of the Statue of Liberty, with a surface area of more than 2.400 m2, and that follows the new gallery opened months ago at the Ellis Island museum (more details on Digital AV).

The centerpiece of the new museum is the Immersive theatre (Immersive theatre). in which a huge seamless Led videowall and made to measure for this space -of 13×3 metre, front access, 1,5 Mm, with 7,680× 2,160p, 165º horizontal and vertical display and format 16:9-, of the UpanelS model of Unilumin is the protagonist.

What makes this great visual wall more special than other video walls is that it offers and engages visitors in a unique and singularly American story.: all those that appear on the screen could be traced back to a generation that passed through Liberty Island once and today., he was even at the nearby Ellis Island immigration processing center.

"Every day people line up in front of Unilumin's huge UpanelS video wall and get excited to see their photos appear and be part of the history of the Statue of Liberty," explains Lawrence Estevez-Smith., IT Director of the Ellis Island Foundation.

This videowall, donated by Unilumin, was specifically designed to deliver the highest image quality in the complex light (natural and artificial) of the museum. It also has a backup system to ensure mission-critical reliability that maintains the flow of content., just like the rest of the museum's systems, in case of any type of interruption, with a working operation 24/7
