The association has updated and expanded this guide for those professionals who want to obtain the recognized Certified Technology Specialist, which already has more than 12,000 certificates worldwide.
The third edition of the CTS Certification Exam Guide you just submitted Avixa, the audiovisual and integration market association, provides "a very complete overview of the topics included in the most recent version of this review", they point out.
For more than thirty years, Avixa has managed the CTS program, recognized worldwide as the reference professional certification in the AV industry, which has three types of certification.
Specifically, it responds to the type of specialization: general (CTS), design (CTS-D), and installation (CTS-I). Currently, there are more than 12,000 CTS-level professionals worldwide, of which around 2,000 have CTS-D or CTS-I levels.
As the author of this third edition of the guide, Andy Ciddor, points out, "We have updated and expanded the coverage of AV technologies and, at the same time, simplified the explanations of the most difficult technical concepts. In addition to presenting Avixa's entire range of aV standards that are constantly expanding, the guide presents a more global approach to terminology and measurements."
These include, for example, how to perform a diagnosis of needs and installation on site; develop a document on the scope of an AV project; troubleshooting and repair, etc. Each chapter of the guide includes best practices, checklists, diagrams, photos, and review questions with a detailed explanation.
In addition, several updates provide an improved educational resource for AV professionals. The guide has been simplified to better reflect the day-to-day work of a CTS-level professional. It also incorporates specific sections on the Avixa Standard in On-Screen Image Dimensions for 2D content in audiovisual systems and the Audio, Video and Control Symbol Standard for use in architectural drawings.
“Avixa está comprometida con la educación de los profesionales de AV -asegura Amanda Beckner, CTS y vp. de educación en esta asociación-. La acreditación CTS certifica que un profesional de AV cuenta con las habilidades técnicas para desempeñarse en un alto nivel. La nueva edición de la guía ofrece características mejoradas que ayudarán en su preparación y unirse a un grupo de élite de profesionales AV”.
