To highlight the achievements of its 20 Athletic Teams (Texas Longhorns), the University of Texas has worked with the company Advent to create an interactive experience at the Hall of Fame (Frank Denius Family University of Texas Athletics) which was inaugurated a few months ago. The design includes a large-format LED video wall screen PixelFlex FlexUltra.

“The University needed a place where they could experience what it really means to be a Longhorn.", comments John Downie, Vice President of Experience Advent.

By delving into the design aspects desired by the University, Downie and the Advent team wanted to accentuate the accomplishments of the athletic programs. With numerous national championships in multiple sports, the University has a lot to celebrate and Downie wanted to give them the right care.

Turning Your Attention to Video Installation, The design team wanted to make sure that all the visuals worked together in unison. As an interactive visitor experience, It was also essential to have a technical design that could tell the story of athletics programs.

“It's an interesting space where a wall contains a significant number of National Championship trophies with a kinetic lighting system. The installation is unique in that the interactive systems that control the 4.8 Led video wall×2,7 meters are also linked to the lighting control system of the multimodal space".

Powered by Cob PixelShield, Scratch and impact resistant, FLEXUltra is designed in a relationship of 16:9 and has a horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 160°. With fully serviceable panels for quick and easy installation and maintenance, works with a 3840Hz refresh rate to eliminate scan lines and flicker. A team that is available with a pixel pitch of 0,9, 1,2, 1,6 and 1,9 Mm.

With two weeks to install and commission the video wall, the Advent team also provided the full-motion HD video content. Knowing the power that comes from using an eye-catching visual experience, Downie is excited about the creative design possibilities that lie ahead.

“The simplicity of installation and back-end infrastructure, as well as lower cooling and power requirements, they provide us with a great opportunity to advocate for high-definition LED video screens where it simply wouldn't have been possible before”, Downie concluded.
