The new Led lighting system, custom developed by Zumtobel for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, replaces the previous one and brings greater efficiency and light quality to the exposures offered.

In this sense and to meet the technical and economic demands of the museum, the Austrian multinational developed a tailor-made product that can be used for wall lighting (Wallwasher), Focused (Spot), very intensive focused (Very narrow spot) and projection (Projector).

In a museum installation, the most important function of lighting is to optimally highlight the content and design of an exhibition. Zumtobel projectors especially convinced those responsible for the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao for their optimal performance as mural lighting (Wallwasher).

Like this, in the exhibition areas, with roofs of 12 meters high, these luminaires offer the perfect harmony between lighting with delicate touches and wide surfaces, with homogeneous light distributions and excellent colour rendering (Ra > 96).

blankFocused projectors illuminate works of art delicately and precisely. IR and UV free light protects exposures, while the three variable color temperatures -of 3000ºK and 4000ºK- stage works of art in an ideal way. Thanks to the incorporation of different accessories, such as filters and lenses, you can also get a diffused light and an oval light distribution.

With the help of two Symmetrical Rotational Fresnel Lenses, available in 6th and 8th versions, The Very Narrow Spot reflector offers precise and well-profiled lighting. The Projector crop luminaire is delivered with a special zoom to focus the light. Four different objectives are available for this purpose. (of 14º, 25º, 35º and 50º).

With these tailor-made lighting solutions, Zumtobel brings the works exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao to the foreground, accentuating its effect through perfect light, as well as the architecture of the museum.

Thanks to Led technology, this special lighting solution provides a significant reduction in energy consumption compared to the previous system, which was one of the requirements on the part of this museum installation. Maintenance of the new system, which is done via Bluetooth, it's especially simple. Zumtobel has installed more than a thousand special luminaires at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
