Microsoft Alberto Granados Citizen PresidentThe Spanish subsidiary of Microsoft has appointed Alberto Granados as president, replacing Pilar López, who from the next 1 July will hold the position of vice president of sales, Microsoft Western Europe marketing and operations.

Since his responsibility as president of Microsoft Australia, Alberto Granados will lead a team close to 850 Professional, focused on helping companies and public organizations in their digitization processes, partnerships and collaborations to drive innovation and sustainability.

The company has a partner ecosystem of more than 10.300 technology partners in the Spanish market, that provide Microsoft technology-based solutions to large companies, plural of pyme, public administrations, professionals and home users.

Microsoft recently announced significant investments in Spain, including the opening of a Cloud Region of Data Centers in the Community of Madrid that will offer cloud services to its customers in Spain.

The new president of Microsoft Spain has extensive experience in the management of digital transformation projects in large companies in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and in the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in finance sectors, tourism, pharmaceutical and healthcare, with a special focus on the application of solutions for improving sustainability in multinationals in the energy and manufacturing industry.

Alberto Granados, who joined Microsoft in 1995, has more than thirty years of experience in the technology industry. He was currently vice president of the division Digital transformation partnerships from Microsoft Corporation, with global responsibility for the strategic digitization projects of large multinational companies in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

He previously held the vice president of sales, marketing and operations of Microsoft Asia-Pacific and the management of large multinational companies in Latin America, in addition to other management responsibilities within the international organization.

In his time at Microsoft Spain he has occupied, among others, the positions of Director of Consulting Services, Director of Enterprise Solutions and Director of Large Companies.

Microsoft europa Pilar LopezFor its part, Pilar López will start from the next 1 July her responsibility as vice president of Microsoft Western Europe, directing his work on sales, marketing and operations of the fourteen subsidiaries that make up the region: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Holland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland.

The board agrees to this position after six years leading the organization of Microsoft Spain, period in which the subsidiary has grown above the market and established itself as one of the main players in the national technology industry.

Pilar López joined Microsoft Spain in 2015 as president of the company, after a career developed in companies such as J.P.. Morgan and Telefónica, where he held positions of great responsibility. It's also

is an independent counselor to Inditex; member of the Once Foundation Board of Trustees and the CyD Foundation, as well as a director of the Association for the Progress of Management (APD) and a member of the Governing Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Spain, ESIC Business School Advisory Council and Digital Future Society Think Tank.
