Caesars windsor powersoft solotech

Ottocanali's ottocanali systems Powersoft have been chosen by the audiovisual integrator Solotech as one of the cornerstones of canada's new hotel resort and casino audio system.

The audio system of the resort and casino hotel Caesars Windsor, in Canada, has completely revamped its original audio system, installed a decade ago, by the specialist Solotech, Toronto-based, who has chosen the amplification platform Ottocanali of Powersoft.

“We did a cost and functionality analysis to determine what would be best and contacted Solotech as soon as we were ready because we have already worked with them on other projects”, explains Brian Drouillard, audiovisual manager at the casino.

Powersoft OttocanaliOne of the challenges of installation was having the network configuration ready and up-to-date to reliably deploy audio over IP. "To do so, Solotech installed all the amplifiers and network switches in the workshop for a full period of ‘burning’ -remember Drouillard- and monitored audio streams to see if they would be affected by different endpoint devices, as well as the functionality of analog inputs from amplifiers to cores Q-SYS“.

The main DSP was the QSC Q-SYS system, that was configured and connected through existing network switches throughout the enclosure to power amplifier groups in five remote locations.

"From a design point of view, obviously the ability to be connected to the network is an improvement to provide flexibility for growth if necessary," Drouillard says.. From the user's point of view, the physical size of the amplifiers allowed two-thirds of the racks used in the old system to be removed, and the front screens that indicate the dB level for each channel is a wonderful tool for troubleshooting”.

Solotech completed a complete configuration of the installations on all Powersoft amplifier platforms prior to shipment, which allowed for resolving configurations and flow problems AES67 with network switches installed.

As Peter Lima points out, solotech, “having internal staff as part of the rotation process is the best practical training for them. Each member of the technical team has gone through a webinar, and classroom training is impossible. The Powersoft team is far superior in support and integration of new firmware versions and they gave us great support in this project”.
