The 4K Summit returns in November to Malaga and extended to five days

The seventh edition of the 4K Summit will take place from the 15 to the 19 next November in hybrid format, with a first face-to-face day in the National Pole of Digital Content of Malaga.

The unstoppable technological and consumer evolution of audiovisual in 2021 to the 4K and the 8K will once again have as its main international sharing the 4K Summit, whose inauguration will take place next year 15 of November and will serve as a face-to-face meeting to welcome the new partners and collaborators of UHD Spain, created last January to promote the development in Spain of Ultra High Definition (UHD).

The official agenda of the seventh edition of the 4K Summit will be announced one month before the event. As a preview, in addition to the UHD news in Spain, the recent Tokyo Olympics 2020 will feature prominently in this year's program, by constituting the platform used to carry out numerous pioneering experiences, in which many manufacturers and companies have participated in the production of the contents.

The different technological solutions that have been successfully applied in the last twelve months will be exhibited at the 4K Summit by multinationals of the audiovisual industry, how Rohde & Schwarz, Hispasat, Eutelsat, Fraunhofer, canon, Ateme, Vestel, Synamedia, among others.

4K in Spain is already a reality

The penetration of 4K in Spain is advancing little by little. Like this, Movistar+ broadcast the Tokyo Games 2020 via the Eurosports4K channel, and usually broadcasts two weekly La Liga matches (Real Madrid and Barça), as well as Formula 1 and weekday Champions League matches.

UHD Spain Association

After last year's edition, which was held virtually for three days, this year's agenda is extended to celebrate the first day in person in Malaga, dedicating the last one to publicize all the work being done by the UHD Spain association, that will present its first white paper on the UHD in Spain.

currently, the UHD Spain Association is made up of thirty members, benchmarks in UHD technology and content. Various television networks, Producers, associations and professionals have already communicated internally their intention to join as partners or collaborators, and will be the National Pole of Digital Content of Malaga where the formal act of its incorporation will take place.

UHD SPAIN already emits since June a channel in tests with 4K content (SDR and HDR) by DTT, that reaches 38 provincial capitals, with the idea that consumers who already have UHD receivers can enjoy free 4K content. This channel can be followed on the Internet, by Satellite (Hispasat) and by the red button (hybrid TV).
