Alfalite in XR Plazamedia studio

An Led mural in the shape of an 'L'’ of 120 square meters of Alfalite, supplied by Mo-Sys, is the centerpiece of the new, state-of-the-art briX|woRk.studio PlazaMedia.

Alfalite has supplied its panels Modularpix Pro VP XR, with ORIM technology (Optical Resin Injection Module), to build an 'L' shaped LED mural of 120 square footage in the new studio of extended reality (Xr) of PlazaMedia, recently opened near Munich.

Created in 1976, PlazaMedia is a German-speaking sports television production company. Their new studio Brix|woRk.studio, located in Agrob Medienpark, in Ismaning, near Munich, It will offer various application possibilities for innovative and sustainable productions combining extended reality, augmented (Ar) & Virtual (VR) for film and production companies, Television networks, Advertising Companies, Creative & Event Agencies.

Brix|woRk.studio is one of the most innovative studios in Germany. It combines the architecture of real sets with virtual worlds through an LED mural of 24 meters wide and 5 high, and can be extended to a 360° space using augmented reality.

Alfalite's Modularpix Pro VP XR panels feature a pixel pitch of 1,9 Mm, Optical Parameters and Brightness CD/m2 > 1.800 Nits, which provides high viewing angle stability and allows the screen to be filmed even from extreme camera angles.

Mo-Sys as an integrator

The virtual production company Mo-Sys has been in charge of supervising the development and execution of this project, in addition to integrating Alfalite's LED panels with its products Startracker, Cinematic XR Focus and bmr.

Thanks to Mo-Sys' real-time rendering engine (Unreal Engine 5.1) integrated into briX|woRk.studio, parameters such as time of day and atmospheric environment – for example, sun, rain, snow or fog – reproduce at will and can be defined individually.

"With briX|woRk.studio puts a big exclamation point in the field of extended reality and sustainable production", Says Jens Friedrichs, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PlazaMedia. "We will offer companies from all sectors the opportunity to showcase their brands, projects and themes in a sustainable way".

In terms of sustainability, PlazaMedia's new XR Led Studio aims to set 'green production' standards, Helping your customers reduce their carbon footprint. This is another reason why they chose Alfalite's LED panels. This technology stands out for its low average power consumption (35 Watts) and their levels of electromagnetic compatibility, allowing the screens to coexist with other electronic systems without interference.

The LED panels used in the PlazaMedia XR studio feature Orim technology, A new panel termination system using an optical resin injection that improves precision between modules (<0,5 Mm). In addition, Provides an enlarged horizontal and vertical viewing angle of 175°.

Led panels with Orim technology have superior anti-static protection (Esd > 10Kv), Better heat dissipation parameters and high impact resistance, liquids, Chemicals and fire (UL94 standard). In addition, are easier to clean, suffer less deterioration and have the shortest time to repair in the market.
