The new version of video surveillance for facial recognition Herta Security, biosurveillance Next, is able to process 150 frames per second. This will be presented at the IFSEC 2013 show.
Herta Security will attend the international security fair IFSEC, to be held from 13 to 16 May in Birmingham (UK) with its video surveillance solution biosurveillance Next. This is a new version that enhances the functionality of the previous but still basing its operation on facial recognition. The system uses video surveillance cameras to detect faces, although they are in motion and at a distance, and without requiring cooperation from the user.
This development of Herta Security, spin-off of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), is able to detect faces even if they are partially hidden by the use of glasses, scarves or hats. It is highly scalable and is very useful in environments where large numbers of people, such as airports, metro stations or train, shopping malls, sports stadiums or urban areas, as it is capable of identifying simultaneously multiple faces in motion.
