The 7thSense Design firm, media expert serving across a variety of digital communications markets, has brought a new media server to the market, the Delta Nano, offering uncompressed video playback 4:4:4.

7thSense Design has announced the launch of the Delta Nano, a new affordable media server that offers uncompressed video playback 4:4:4. Based on the technology incorporated in the current 7thSense Delta range, Delta Nano comes in a 1U rackmount box or small form factor chassis, and can be stored between 5 y 20 minutes of video data 4:4:4. The unit has a DVI output / Single HDMI and supports all frame rates up to 30 standard fps.

Ian Macpherson, CEO of 7thSense, has assured that the new player takes the company to new market sectors. “Delta Nano is the perfect solution in places where people only watch a few minutes of looped media, to, For example, to support a museum display, to operate information points at theme parks and other attractions, or to drive kiosks in showrooms and in digital signage applications for retail. For this reason we have kept everything very simple. Delta Nano has a new web-based user interface that is easy to use, so content providers can simply copy the uncompressed TGA output sequence from After Effects or similar applications directly into the box, instead of having to go through a laborious MPG encoding process”, Macpherson has pointed out.

“Delta Nano is not aimed at multi-screen projection - which is the task of our flagship product Delta – but two or more Nanos can be synchronized together, for multiple kiosks to play the same program simultaneously, if required. Also incorporates real-time warping and blending functions for display equalization”, has added.

Ease of use

Delta Nano offers stereo audio along with video content, while its integrated software -accessible in a browser-based graphical user interface via TCP connection / Integrated Product IP – offers an easy-to-use interface for creating a quick demo. Movies, still images, Sound and text can be easily combined and edited in a non-linear editing workflow.

“This small device offers uncompressed HD video and show creation – all from a box that takes up minimal rack space or simply sits on the back of a flat panel display”, Ian Macpherson concluded.
