Brightsign XDBrightSign will lead to ISE 2013 its new line of solid-state digital signage players with the performance of a first-class PC. Solid-state players have always been more affordable and much more reliable than PC-based signaling solutions., But BrightSign's new XD product line is the first of its kind to also offer the features and capabilities of PC-based solutions..

Jeff Hastings, BrightSign CEO, has pointed out: “Our new XD product line will reshape the competitive landscape of our industry. We are eager to publicly demonstrate the new line of solid-state signage players that offer cutting-edge performance and functionality., including a very powerful video engine and the ability to incorporate live HDTV into digital signage.” “We anticipate that 2013 It will be a year of transformation for the digital signage market as a whole, and I believe our new XD players will set the standard for offering a viable and superior alternative to PC-based solutions. Our customers - and perhaps our competitors' customers too- They are crying out for a solution like this and we are excited to lead the charge and steer the market in a direction where solid state players will be able to offer a level of innovation that our industry has not seen in many years.”, Hastings added.

BrightSign's new XD products are the industry's first solid-state players to offer video and other multimedia capabilities that, if it was possible before, It was only with PC-based solutions. This includes the ability to display live HDTV broadcast content from HDMI or coaxial sources. A Clear QAM tuner is used to play CCTV broadcasts, and the HDMI input is used to play any broadcast content – even HDCP protected content.

All models include an advanced video decoding engine with superior upscaling technology that delivers 1080p60 video and supports 3D content.. The video engine is capable of decoding two 1080p60 videos or several low resolution videos simultaneously. All models support HTML5, so content creators can use popular development tools to create engaging content. Besides, BrightSign's touchscreen interactivity has been enhanced with swipe and gesture control.

Bob Michaels, Vice President of Global Sales at ZeeVee, a BrightSign Partner, has pointed: “Owners and commercial integrators serving restaurants and sports bars already know that modulation is a powerful and cost-effective way to deliver high-definition video.. Combining ZeeVee modulators with new BrightSign XD players is the next evolution. These customers can now add special happy hour offers and promotions right on the screen - on each channel- without having to interrupt the live TV broadcast “.

Under normal circumstances, We simply cannot afford the cost of a computer system when a large-scale deployment is necessary., not to mention the inevitable PC downtime and high temperature emissions.
