Coinciding with the celebration of Book Day, the giant LED screens in the Plaza de Callao in Madrid broadcast live with subtitles the traditional Continued Reading of Cervantes' work.

The digital screens of Callao City Lights has contributed this year to the celebration of Book Day by broadcasting live with subtitles the inauguration of the traditional Continuous Reading of Don Quixote at the Círculo at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

The beginning of this reading was carried out this year by the vice president of the Government, Soraya Sáenz de Samtamaria, faced with the impossibility of the poet finally doing it, novelist and essayist José Manuel Caballero Bonald, Cervantes Prize 2012, as initially planned.

Besides, all day today, The giant LED screens in the Plaza de Callao show a large photographic mosaic made up of images of hundreds of readers along with the book they will give as a gift.

The now traditional Continuous Reading reaches its seventh edition this year and includes 48 hours of uninterrupted recitation by relevant figures from the world of politics or culture and other anonymous citizens.

This reading also has telephone connections and videoconferences with cities like Havana (Cuba), Mexico D.F., Lima (Peru), Sidney (Australia), Beijing (China), New York and Boston (EU) o Helsinki (Finland), among many other capitals of the world where Spanish is becoming more and more powerful every day.

Callao City Lights will connect again with the Círculo de Bellas Artes to read the latest chapters on the day 24.
