Samsung introduces new app development tools for multi-screen environments
During the recent celebration of the Samsung developers Conference 2013, the company presented five new smartphone application development kits, tablets y smart TV, to “create a multi-screen world”.
The multinational Samsung Electronics has presented during the edition 2013 from their developer conference (Samsung developers Conference), held at the end of last October in San Francisco (USA), five new multi-screen application development kits, in line with its digital convergence strategy.
These five new software development kits to create applications for businesses and consumers on smartphones, tablets y smart TV, currently available in beta version, reaffirm Samsung's goal of equipping software developers with the best tools, resources and supports necessary to promote a multi-screen experience through different connected Samsung devices.
As Won Pyo Hong explained at this event, President and Director of Samsung Electronics Media Solution Center, “There are nearly half a billion connected devices today.”, however, a very small part are connected to each other. Samsung is creating a large number of platforms connected to each other with a wide range of devices, like smartphones, tablets or televisions. “We want to pave the way for the most creative developers to participate in this multi-screen future.”.
The new software development kits are: Samsung Mobile SDK; Multiscreen SDK; Multiscreen Gaming SDK, y Smart TV 5.0 SDK, to which Samsung Knox SDK is added as a novelty. The first of them is based on a publishing system in the 'cloud' and includes APIs to discover and connect devices, allowing content to be shared in a simple way, in addition to adapting Mobile environment applications for Samsung SmartTV in a simple way.
Added to this is the presentation of an integrated version of Samsung Mobile SDK, which combines ten individual packages, including the latest news such as S-Pen, media control, professional sound, gestures, …
The company has collaborated with Unity Technologies to create Samsung Multiscreen Gaming SDK, so game developers can create multi-screen experiences between TVs, smartphone or tablet.
The Smart TV system 5.0 SDK allows these professionals to generate applications for Samsung Smart TV and their integration with Multiscreen SDK, in addition to including WebEngine 2014 to support next year's Smart TVs, as well as Samsung Connect for other devices. Finally, New Knox SDK Gives Businesses the Power to Tackle the Byod Trend ,without compromising employee security and privacy.
