A consortium formed by educational centers, companies and research centers have developed the Ikasi project, the result of which is a comprehensive solution to design, equip and manage educational centers at an international level based on technologically advanced products.

Transforming teaching and learning styles through advanced technologies is the main objective of the project learn. A consortium formed by companies dedicated to new teaching systems, as Virtualware y Alecop, companies that develop educational environment equipment such as Aka, Ojmar y Forge, and companies that design intelligent educational buildings such as Giroa and LKS, together with the applied research center Tecnalia, Cluster Habic y Mondragon University, have collaborated in the implementation of this project. After more than 10 years of previous work between the agents involved, Ikasi is currently in full national and international expansion.

The pilot of the project was carried out at the University of Mondragón, creating a flexible architectural space, sustainable and energy efficient. To Learn, Flexible and multipurpose classrooms have been designed, with smart technological equipment (interactive work tables, digital content and collaborative work platforms, among others), that improve traditional teaching processes through participatory spaces where the presence of mobile equipment or the collaborative whiteboard stands out, based on cloud whiteboard concept.

Thanks to the 'cloud board', Users access a web platform where they can interact and work in a participatory way both in person and remotely, that is to say, allows to strengthen the relationship between students and teachers both inside the center and outside of it.

The university of the future also houses laboratories that become mixed spaces where master classes are taught., experiments are developed and teamwork is encouraged. Ikasi also guarantees the safety of people who work at the university through a dangerous gas detection system that blocks supplies. Besides, has intelligent access solutions for furniture and lockers that allow you to restrict access to sensitive and personal material.
