Maga Engineering renews the PA system of the Galileo Galilei room in Madrid
Four ME10V Line Array enclosures and another four ME10V wide enclosures have been installed in the room., as well as two ME218SND subwoofers and a Lab.gruppen PLM 20K44 power amplifier. As main system reinforcement, Two self-powered ME8SA point source enclosures have also been implemented.
Inaugurated in 1985 and considered “the musical temple par excellence of the Madrid night”, the Galileo Galilei room has renewed its PA system, entrusting the project to the company Maga Engineering.
Although the quality of the previous system was good, coverage was insufficient and not homogeneous, leaving several important areas of the room uncovered. Galileo Galilei technicians worked with the technical director and designer of Maga, Antonio Cantarero, to size the equipment to be installed.
The installed system incorporates four Line Array ME10V enclosures and another four ME10V wide, as well as two double subwoofers 18 inches ME218SND and a Lab.gruppen PLM 20K44 power stage. The eight enclosures offer maximum SPL power per element of 137 dB peak at one meter and a horizontal coverage angle of 90 (ME10V) y 120 degrees (ME10V wide).
For your part, The subwoofers have a maximum SPL power per element of 140dB peak at one meter. The PLM20K44 system incorporates a Lake processor and Ethernet connections, AS3 and Dante.
As main system reinforcement, to cover a small area of shadow located in the first row, Two self-powered ME8SA point source enclosures have been installed (maximum SPL power per element: 127 dB pico at one meter).
With the new system, practically total coverage of all audience areas of the room is achieved while guaranteeing maximum sound quality.
