ClearOne encourages collaboration at Buffalo immigrant legal aid office
The Buffalo Legal Aid Office boardroom has added the BMA CT audio system to its conference infrastructure, that has been installed on the ceiling of the room, and the Converge Pro solution 2 48V.
Created in 1912 and serving more than 20.000 people annually, the Legal Aid Office (Legal Aid Bureau) Buffalo is the largest in Western New York. Its Civil Legal Services Unit offers help to victims of domestic violence and child abuse, among other services.
Much of this important legal work is done in a large meeting room that has been equipped with ClearOne.
Brian O’Leary, account executive VeraView, was responsible for the design and specification of the Beamforming Mic Array Ceiling Tile (BMA CT), patented by ClearOne, for the living room ceiling, along with a Converge Pro system 2 48V to provide different combinations of audio inputs and outputs, interfaces de red, peripherals and configuration and control software.
Both were chosen because they allowed the room's acoustic challenges to be overcome and are aesthetically pleasing., even in an irregularly shaped room.
“The legal professionals in the Office wanted everyone to participate in the meetings, even if they couldn't be there in person, so having a reliable conference system was a determining factor”, comments O’Leary regarding the choice to go with the ClearOne BMA CT and Converge Pro 2 48V. “The system needed to be able to capture all audio and make sure to mitigate issues caused by the room's noisy HVAC system.”.
The BMA CT turned out to be the ideal solution for the room, given the low ceiling height and the irregular shape of the walls. Meeting participants can be heard clearly, even if they move around the room, and can sit or stand anywhere without compromising audio quality.
Together with the BMA CT, the Converge Pro DSP mixer 2 is a powerful signal processor that has been tailored to the existing audio characteristics in the room and provided crystal clear audio quality, even for conference sessions with 20 from 30 participants.
“This was our first installation using BMA CT and the Converge Pro DSP 2 together and it was the right choice for this project. With the height of the living room ceiling and the unconventional layout, It made a big difference to have a solution that integrated, without sacrificing audio performance”, explica O’Leary.
O'Leary also specified the Unite cameras 150 PTZ in the 20X20 conference room, citing its versatility as a key element. Supporting USB interfaces 3.0 o 2.0, It is compatible with applications such as Collaborate Space, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx o GoToMeeting.
The Unite 150 cameras also feature full HD video quality with 1080p video, 12x optical zoom for close-up views and a 73-degree wide-angle view to capture all participants across the entire conference room.
