BrightSign has collaborated with Signagelive to design a digital signage solution for the Harry Perkins Medical Research Institute from Australia. The project covers the two facilities of the center and the objective is to allow to manage the creation, programming and delivery of content to a large number of Led screens, information boards and large banner screens located in the lobby. All these display media are used for internal digital signage communications.

BrightSign and Signagelive at Instituto Investigacion Harry PerkinsThe Harry Perkins Institute, founded in 1998, has grown to become one of Australia's leading adult medical research centres. more than 450 research staff members work in two new state-of-the-art facilities, together with the main university hospitals.

The exhibition space in its lobby is accessible to the public on weekdays and regular visits give fans the opportunity to see how these cutting-edge investigations are conducted.. Spaces are also available for venue rental. The goal of the new facility was to increase the reliability of the platform and minimize the time spent managing the system..

One of the Harry Perkins Institute's partner organizations was already using Signagelive and the company. Amped Digital had provided highly effective implementation and ongoing support services. That is why they decided to bet on this combination again.

They had an inflexible signaling infrastructure, where everything had to come from a manufacturer. Software updates were large projects with complex firmware dependencies and did not have the option to choose devices.

BrightSign and Signagelive at Instituto Investigacion Harry PerkinsOur solution was at the end of life and was running out of support. Signagelive was the most cost-effective replacement solution, functional and flexible that we evaluate. Doesn't need much training, does not consume large amounts of time to maintain and is reliable in its operation. Digital signage is a vital and valuable part of our communication and branding strategies, so it has provided a great commercial benefit to the institute”, comments Andy Crowhurst, Harry Perkins Institute Facilities Operations Manager.

BrightSign media players were chosen for their reliability in these environments. The chosen model, the XT244, offers POE+, provides H.265/H.264 4K support, allows you to scale to 4K and dual decode two 4Kp60 videos simultaneously.

“We are thrilled to make the Harry Perkins Institute facilities friendlier and more functional. This project serves as an example to show how updated digital signage solutions can improve, not only the aesthetics of a building but also contribute to the overall smooth running of a valuable educational facility”, clarifies Jeff Hastings, ceo of BrightSign.

“The reliability of the Signagelive CMS with the BrightSign media player is outstanding. Given the inflexible signaling infrastructure we had, Signagelive and BrightSign have been like a breath of fresh air, with significant cost savings, reducing administration expenses and providing a solution that is much more agile in the presentation of content. In addition, Amped Digital has provided implementation and support services", adds Andy Crowhurst.

The purpose of this project was to increase the reliability of the platform and reduce the time spent managing the system to a minimum., allowing facility management to engage in other functions and not just updating internal digital signage communications.

“The best result of the project was the ability to give key users of the institute a reliable and simple way to display information across multiple sites., with the possibility to add users with a training of 20 to 30 minutes", explains Nick Curulli, Australian Business Development Manager for Signagelive
