The developer of electronic ink technology E Ink the audiovisual company has joined Artec Design to display digital paper screens on the University of Tartu, the largest in Estonia, with a size of 13,3 inches, in which class schedules are displayed and updated daily.

These electronic ink digital screens have been installed in the recently opened Delta Center of the University of Tartu, to provide students with real-time information with a digital signage solution tailored to the campus, thus avoiding the cost and time of changing the paper communications that were used until now, says the company statement.

The screens of E Ink, minimalist design with slim bezel, adapted to the aesthetics of the academic building, offer this updated content with a low energy requirement, since it is only consumed when the image is changed.

They have a tempered glass front cover, Scratch resistant for greater durability in these types of public spaces, with anti-glare coating for optimal viewing, since E Ink's e-ink technology is light reflective rather than emissive, eliminating light pollution.

As Paul Apen emphasizes, Director of Business and Operations at E Ink, “This indoor digital signage system marks the exciting expansion of applications for digital paper in the education environment.”. From eReaders to eNotes and now with our screens, digital paper provides all the readability benefits of traditional paper, with the sustainability of a digital device”.

They also have an optional RFID/NFC sensor and a touch button for local interaction with users., allowing customization of the displayed contents, including campus maps, event promotion, safety messages, etc.
