Located in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, Yeti, a premium outdoor lifestyle brand, has opened a store of 1.493 square meters. Created in 2006 by brothers Ryan and Roy Seiders, the goal of this firm is to bring the outdoor experience to the city and inspire adventures in nature. They have a strong vision for how their customers should experience their brand; not only in your daily operations, but also with their events.

With great success in its flagship Austin location, Yeti has opened new locations and in each of them not only exhibits its products but also has a bar and a stage where they were held., before the pandemic, live performances, screenings and events.

To create a good sound infrastructure for the Yeti store in Chicago, the company contacted the installation company The Werd Company, with whom I had already worked on other occasions.

"We enjoyed the challenge of creating an audio system for a commercial environment that could be transformed into an acting space", comments Drew Dunavan, Chief Operating Officer of The Werd Company.

To handle the audio of this space, a DSP system has been installed Symetrix Prism 8×8, that manages all audio routing and signal processing, including the entry and exit, and the mixture.

Open Architecture DSP Combines Cost-Effective Processing with Network Flexibility dante that allows you to implement, control and maintain the system quickly.

"Dante's capabilities of Prism 8×8 are just what we were looking for", explains Dunavan. "It allows us to incorporate the design and control of the production of events since we must bear in mind that it is a store and not a space for performances as such.. The key was to have the capabilities adjust the systems based on the desired result.”.

Symetrix Prism system Dante connectivity enables simple microphone solutions for artists and MCs on stage and the ability to route digital audio over the Dante network directly to amplifiers and output devices.

Despite the many moving parts of this project, The Werd Company was able to design, integrate and install a state-of-the-art audiovisual system, while providing ongoing maintenance and support through remote AV management and staffing for any live event.

“We really like the performance of Symetrix and have been implementing it in our next installations”, clarifies Dunavan.
